Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in Brazil. Physiotherapy is used before, during and after surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy to prevent and treat complications affecting shoulder mobility, sensation, posture and lymphatic drainage of the arm.

Before surgery

Functional assessment of the shoulder and upper limb, guidance on the immediate postoperative period, prevention of complications, and baseline measurements for later comparison.

Early and late postoperative care

Restoring shoulder range of motion, preventing and treating scar adhesions, addressing postoperative pain and axillary web syndrome, and preventing lymphedema.
