“Lymphedema went from being a secondary concern to becoming the focus of my practice.”
After graduating from PUCPR in 2003, I joined the hospital and oncology physiotherapy residency at AC Camargo Cancer Center and fell in love with oncology.
Caring for patients with cancer introduced me to lymphedema — a chronic, often underestimated condition that profoundly affects quality of life after cancer. From then on, I built my training around one question: how to treat it better.
That journey took me to internationally recognized schools — Vodder in the United States, Leduc in Belgium, Földi in Germany and the Wittlinger Center in Austria — and to a PhD at AC Camargo, researching lymphedema. Alongside this, I developed my own clinical approach, grounded in evidence and shared through the education of physiotherapists across Brazil.
I divide my time between three areas: my clinic, where I care for patients; Oncoexperts, the school I founded in 2012, which has trained more than six thousand physiotherapists; and research, teaching and clinical care at Unifesp and Instituto Lipedema Brasil.
I also mentor physiotherapists through Lymph Expert, my vascular physiotherapy mentorship. Over four months, I support professionals already working in the field who have taken courses with me, through online meetings and case discussions on lymphedema, lipedema, venous disease and wounds.
